Green Days Out in Adelaide

If you are visiting Adelaide, you will want to make the most of the city’s famous outdoor attractions. The city’s parks and walks are almost unparalleled, so those in search of a green day out are sure to be in for a treat.  Below are just a couple favourites from Adelaide’s wonderful array of green days out.

Botanic Garden

Located right amongst the hustle and bustle of Adelaide’s CBD is the Botanic Garden.  The Botanic Garden provides welcome respite from this modern metropolis, and the flora on offer is nothing short of spectacular. To get the most from your trip, it is best to take one of the free walking tours provided here, as these will provide deep insight into the exotic trees and plants.  There is also a restaurant, cafe and gift shop, so you can grab a bit to eat or a souvenir from your green day out to Adelaide Botanic Garden.

Gorge Wildlife Park

Should you be more interested in fauna than flora, the Gorge Wildlife Park will be right up your street.  All of the old Australian favourites are here, including koalas, kangaroos, wallabies and wombats, so all the bases are covered.  You can even cuddle and feed the koalas, so be sure to bring a camera to capture that perfect moment.  Alligators, parrots and monkeys are also present at Gorge Wildlife Park, so there is enough here to keep the whole family entertained for the day.

Belair National Park

Belair National Park is surely one of the premier picnic spots in the Adelaide area.  With over a quarter of a million visitors each year, it is testament to the park’s nature that it still manages to retain a sense of seclusion.  Located just 13km from Adelaide city centre, Belair National Park is also one of the best places in South Australia to see native animals in their own environment.

During your stay in South Australia’s capital city, any purchases made with a platinum card will earn you rewards points.  Holders of platinum credit cards can take advantage of a variety of benefits while they enjoy some of Adelaide’s many great attractions.
