Volvo Ocean Race 2011
A new edition of the Volvo Race 2011/2012 Ocen reach the city of Alicante between 14 October to 5 November at the Race Village, a place that has more than 40,000 square feet for training and sport, with entertainment and dining areas, where all the audience can enjoy a varied program. In the Race Village area will be concerts, animation, program initiation to sailing and all kinds of entertainment aimed at all audiences.

Volvo Ocean Race Official Route 2011/2012:
The day will begin October 29 in Alicante and through Cape Town, Abu Dhabi, Sanya and Auckland to reach Itajaí. The next stop on the route will pass through Miami and the journey will continue through the Atlantic to Lisbon, and finally in
Galway Lorient.
The competition has undergone a few changes to regulations regarding the construction of ships, increasing the travel range to 14 – 14.5 tons and required a maximum weight of the keel bulb of 7.4 tonnes, while in allowed to cover all the
SPIs are rolling.
The maximum draft must be 4.5 meters and the fin must weigh a minimum of 1,900 kilos.
Scoring system:
The event scored as on other occasions, with 60 points for the winner of the stage, equivalent to 5 points for each participating boat and the winner will be the team most points throughout the competition.
