Galicia, The Ribeira Sacra
Define a few lines to Galicia is almost impossible task, being an area rich in scenery, water, food, and of course: in history. We recommend visiting The Ribeira Sacra, an area which has large natural areas such as the Sil River Canyon and quite artistic, where you can see a few medieval monasteries, remembering and stressing the importance of the area during the Middle Ages.
The Ribeira Sacra is a natural environment with the presence of the river Sil, as a natural border between the towns of Orense and Lugo with a landscape worthy of admiration in his views overlooking the vineyards, mountains and water from flowing into the river Sil Miño. This section is where it is called the Ribeira Sacra with 200 kilometers in length. The area is the National Tourism Parador San Esteban de Ribas de Sil a wooded area near the Monastery of Santa Cristina. In the area are natural viewpoints where you can see the canyon of the river Sil, known as Balcones de Madrid, located in ravines in some cases reaching 500 meters deep.
You can also go a stretch of river about 40 miles on a catamaran, having different routes, as that makes its way to the spot between Abeleda Chancís Os (three hours of journey) or a shorter one as the San Esteban to Abeleda. Outstanding cuisine and spas in the area, while in the tourist offices you can find the most suitable routes and all the necessary information.
